I recently completed the book, The Words That Made Us: America’s Constitutional Conversation, 1760-1840 by Akhil Reed Amar. It is a history book on how the U. S. Constitution came to be. Akhil Reed Amar is Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University, where he teaches constitutional law at both Yale College and Yale Law School. The book is 832 pages. I learned many things I did not already know about the history of the U. S. Constitution. I am a linear thinker and the “hyperlinked” structure of the book made it a slow read.
