I listened to Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for Our Common Life by Makoto Fujimura through Hoopla from my library. This book challenged my thinking because art is not my context. The phrase I have told Kristin many times is “form follows function.” This book challenges that saying head-on.
I think others who love art would be encouraged by this book and would enjoy it. But, what do I know? I am glad I listened to it and it broadened my thinking about life and art. Engaging with thoughtful books that do not “sound like me” are some of the best ways to see growth in my life.
