Normally, I have two books I am reading at one time.

One book is for fun. This usually includes legal, spy or detective stories or history books.

The other book is for deep or challenging thinking and usually is in the realm of theology or science.

Inspired by the son of the pastor next door in PA, I was challenged to explore a science book, The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory, by Brian Greene. WOW! Although it is a summary book for beginners in the topic, I was soon wading chest-high and my brain hurt. Needless to say, I was unable to spend any time reading another book for fun. This took all of my reading effort.

I wish I had a way to ask questions about the topics.

Although it was difficult and I only think I understand a little bit, it was beneficial to explore deeper into the science of small things and big things (cosmology). I know many of you will not find this book interesting, but if you ever wondered about hidden dimensions, string theory, small things and big things, this is a possible entry point.
