In this blog, I try to emphasize that we need to be careful calling people “heretics” whenever we disagree on minor theological points. I view the creeds as a pattern for determining orthodoxy or the major theological points.

But, I have been pondering about the growth of “Christian Nationalism” in America and other countries. To me, “Christian Nationalism” seems to violate the themes of Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, and other letters from Paul. It seems to degrade outsiders as less than “made in the image of God.” It seems to violate the overall teaching of Jesus. It seems to violate justice and mercy.

I am concerned about the widespread subtle teaching of “Christian Nationalism” in the church and mission organizations. I am saddened that many pastors do not confront “Christian Nationalism” within their congregations.
