The work was considered by some <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Church_Fathers\">Church Fathers<\/a> to be a part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_Testament\">New Testament<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Didache#cite_note-7\">[b]<\/a> while being rejected by others as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apocrypha#Spurious_writings\">spurious<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biblical_canon\">non-canonical<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Didache#cite_note-8\">[6]<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Didache#cite_note-9\">[7]<\/a> In the end, it was not accepted into the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Development_of_the_New_Testament_canon\">New Testament canon<\/a>. However, works which draw directly or indirectly from the <em>Didache<\/em> include the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Didascalia_Apostolorum\"><em>Didascalia Apostolorum<\/em><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apostolic_Constitutions\"><em>Apostolic Constitutions<\/em><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orthodox_Tewahedo_biblical_canon#Ethiopic_Didascalia\">Ethiopic Didascalia<\/a>, the latter of which is included in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orthodox_Tewahedo_biblical_canon#_Broader_biblical_canon\">the broader canon<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ethiopian_Orthodox_Church\">Ethiopian Orthodox Church<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to read more early Christian writings, I read The Didache : TEACHING of the TWELVE APOSTLES: Also Includes The Epistle of Barnabas.
