This book has been recommended to me often over the years, but I was late to consume. This week, I listened to the unabridged audiobook. It is challenging to me to pursue Jesus. Here are some quotes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe key, then, to loving God is to see Jesus, to hold him before the mind with as much fullness and clarity as possible. It is to adore him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChristians certainly aren\u2019t perfect. There will always be need for improvement. But there is a lot of room between being perfect and being \u201cjust forgiven\u201d as that is nowadays understood. You could be much more than forgiven and still not be perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe \u201cinterior castle\u201d of the human soul, as Teresa of Avila called it, has many rooms, and they are slowly occupied by God, allowing us time and room to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBlessed are the spiritual zeros\u2014the spiritually bankrupt, deprived and deficient, the spiritual beggars, those without a wisp of \u2018religion\u2019\u2014when the kingdom of the heavens comes upon them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe does not call us to do what he did, but to be as he was, permeated with love. Then the doing of what he did and said becomes the natural expression of who we are in him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are becoming who we will be\u2014forever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe does not call us to do what he did, but to be as he was, permeated with love.
